Drainfield Installation

Drainfield and Leach Field Installation in Bangor

The drainfield is where a septic system succeeds or fails, and it is the most expensive part to replace. Arclightscope builds the soil absorption area using gravel trenches or plastic leaching chambers, sized directly from the perc rate so treated effluent from the tank disperses into the ground without surfacing or backing up.

Why Sizing Is Critical Here

Bangor soils vary from workable loam to heavy clay that drains slowly, and the seasonal high water table rides up with spring melt. A field that is undersized or set too shallow will flood in a wet April. We measure the drainage rate and the water table during the site evaluation, then size the trenches and keep four feet of vertical separation to groundwater so the field lasts.

Our Process

We confirm the perc results, lay out the trenches on the approved design, and set the distribution box so effluent splits evenly across every lateral instead of overloading one run. Washed drainfield gravel and non woven filter fabric go in per the county spec, and we file the as-built record before backfill. A settled or clogged D-box gets corrected as part of the same visit.
